This resort offers 333 guestrooms, all with private balconies and ocean views. Rooms are located in three buildings: Luna, Estrella, and Plaza Tower. Arts and Crafts meets modern Mexico in the decor; blue bedspreads and upholstery are paired with solid-wood armoires and tables. Rooms are outfitted with tile floors, small dining tables with two chairs, laptop-compatible safes, armchairs, and satellite TV. Ceiling fans supplement the air conditioning. What to expect: The tropics meet the desert at this all-inclusive resort. Towering palm trees and cactus gardens dot the extensive grounds and beachfront, while the rugged mountains of Los Cabos form a backdrop. Guests make a grand entrance into a spacious open-air lobby of black limestone and marble. A focal point of the resort is a 185-foot-tall lighthouse, location of a bar with panoramic views. Amenity highlights: This beachfront resort features five outdoor pools: a saltwater infinity pool by the sea; a relaxation pool for adults only; a central, freeform pool with swim-up bar; an activities pool with volleyball net; and a children’s pool, part of La Tortuga Kids’ Club. With five restaurants serving Italian, Mexican, and international cuisine, guests never need to leave the resort to dine. Insider tip: Estero San Jos?a tropical estuary, is an easy 10-minute walk along the beach from the Crowne Plaza. It’s a lovely place for bird-watching, kayaking, and hiking. A horse-riding concession on the resort’s beach makes the trip even more fun.

This resort is in the beachfront hotel zone, a 10-minute walk from San Jos?el Cabo. The on-site La Tortuga Kids’ Club (ages 4–10) features daily supervised arts-and-crafts activities, a video-game and entertainment center, an Astroturf mini-soccer field, and a gated, shallow children’s pool. Teens can hang out in the Biosfera game room, where they will find foosball, air hockey, Ping-Pong, a Nintendo system, and a television. The hotel maintains a business center with complimentary high-speed Internet access. In addition to five pools, recreational facilities include a fitness center, basketball court, two lighted hard-surface tennis courts, a racquetball court, and a paddle-tennis court. A white-sand beach behind the hotel features staffed service. Swimming off Los Cabos can be dangerous because of rough currents; guests should check the warning level posted on the beach before entering the water. The resort has five restaurants, a lobby bar, and a cocktail lounge with wraparound views of the Baja Peninsula. The Crowne Plaza has five outdoor pools. The resort also features two lighted hard-surface tennis courts, a basketball court, racquetball court, jogging track, and paddle-tennis court. Snorkeling and kayaking gear is available from the poolside activities center. The hotel can also supply nets for beach volleyball and free bikes for rides around San Jos? The San Jos?unicipal Golf Course, a 9-hole public course, is directly across the street from the Crowne Plaza. The resort’s Golf Concierge can direct guests to any of a half-dozen 18-hole courses located within 20 minutes.
